This special service will be held at The Aboriginal Catholic Ministry (ACM) in Thornbury. ACM is a place of connection, truth telling and fighting for Reconciliation with a belief that there can be an alternative to the present order by drawing on a deep Spiritual connection with this land. Sherry Balcombe, coordinator of the ACM, is a Western Yalanji/ Djabaguy and Olkola Woman from far north Queensland. She was born in Melbourne and has had a connection with the ACM for 27 years.
Sherry will welcome us to the ACM space in an event that will explore Aboriginal Spirituality, ACM’s place in the Catholic Church and wider intersections of faith and spirituality in today’s context. There will be a focus on Indigenous knowledge systems and education, past and future healing and how communities can bridge and build cultural and spiritual awareness.
