After nearly a decade invested in working in peacebuilding and conflict resolution in some of the world's most intractable conflicts, Laura Grant chose to come home to Melbourne last year. Laura has worked for international and local NGOs and the United Nations in a career that has taken her to Palestine, Liberia, and all the way to Timbuktu (literally). A yearning for a way to contribute sustainably, with self-care and vitality rather than self-sacrifice and over-responsibility, has led her to return home and focus on a new journey; that of healing, self-reckoning and regeneration.
Join Kate and Laura in a conversation about how we can burn brightly without burning out. How do we reconcile our desire to contribute and give whole-heartedly with our need to preserve our own health and well-being? What do we do when we have built our identity around an ideal that no longer serves us or those we are seeking to serve? And how can we recover and heal when we realize the cause that defined our sense of purpose is consuming us?
